Protea’s goal has been the development and introduction of new technologies for the online measurement of gases, to help control process and reduce environmental emissions. In 2017 Protea opened a new manufacturing facility in Peterborough to produce a range of gas analysers with a particular focus on the Marine Emissions sector.

With MCERTS and Type Approval from a number of classification societies, Protea’s analyser have been proven on board vessels all around the world. Our global Marine Network of support and service engineers can ensure the analyser have high up-time and are performing to the stringency requirements of international maritime legislation.

The need to demonstrate environmental responsibility is key for today’s marine and offshore industries. Charterers and the public demand high standards of performance and reliability. Fuels and exhaust gas emissions are also the subject of international, regional and national controls. The most significant is IMO MARPOL Annex VI – Regulations for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships, which also applies to mobile offshore drilling units and other oil industry platforms.

We run regular training in product service, applications and data analysis. Both our locations are in easy reach from major UK airports and rail services.
